Context

After working for various departments of a global pharma company with the goal of multi-channel marketing and streamlining content creation, the idea of headless CMSs as the future of CMS seemed appealing as not only a buzz but possibly a strategic knowledge.

As expected CMS philosophies are always struggling between the tangible concept of page-specific web presentation and the abstract reusable content structuring e.g. for content sharing or re-use.

The Project

We chose to start with a ready-made sample project from https://github.com/sanity-io/example-company-website-gatsby-sanity-combo and partially extend it.

Pros & Cons

• Pro - simple website creation with ready-made gatsby FE
• Pro - simple extension and customization of sanity (new pages, attributes, ...)
• Pro - simple extension of formatting in Gatsby ReactJS
• Con - Higher setup complexity compared to e.g. WordPress
• Con - Plugin Libraries
